Grow a virtual tree

Desktop Tree is a simulation video game developed by utStudio. As the name suggests, this game will have you grow a virtual plant on your desktop computer. However, unlike in real life, you don't have to take care of it to make it grow.

Desktop Tree is a casual game you can play between surfing, doing your task, or playing games. However, while it does not need constant attention, it offers you something to do to make it grow faster and better. Moreover, while it runs all the time, it does not take up too much of your resources.

How do you play this game?

Desktop Tree is an idle game that lets you grow a virtual potted plant on your desktop. As mentioned, the plant does not need to be taken care of like real-life trees. It grows on its own even without watering. With this, you can have it while doing other tasks on your computer. However, you can make it grow faster by feeding it bugs that appear randomly.

More than feeding the plant with bugs, you can also trim it. You can shear unwanted branches or shape them the way you like. To cut branches, hold Ctrl and click on the branch. You can also zoom in on the plant by holding Ctrl and using the mouse wheel. Of course, you can also move the pot anywhere on your screen by clicking and dragging it.

You can get information about the plant you're growing by pressing Esc. This opens up the menu that gives you various game options. Among these is the transparent feature. However, this might not work on a classic theme or basic version of your computer's OS. It also does not work on a remote desktop. Players should also know that you can only grow one tree at a time.

Is the game good?

Overall, Desktop Tree is worth checking out if you are looking for an idle simulator. The game is easy as your only task is to grow a virtual plant. Doing so is also made simple as you don't have to take care of it like its real-life counterpart. However, there is nothing more to the game than growing your tree.

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
